Overview

The competition consists of two rounds:
Qualification Round (Online)
Final (Online)
Winners' Concert (Live)

Evaluation Criteria

(1–25 points per category, maximum 100 points):

Technique (Maximum 25 points)
• Intonation
• Breath control
• Diction

Musicality (Maximum 25 points)
• Dynamics and tone color
• Phrasing
• Stylistic accuracy

Performance and Expressiveness (Maximum 25 points)
• Facial expressions and gestures
• Stage movement
• Interaction with the ensemble and/or audience

Interpretation (Maximum 25 points)
• Emotion
• Creativity
• Authenticity

Qualifying Round (Online)

Admission: Singers (female/male/diverse) of all nationalities are invited to enter the competition.
Registration: Participation in the qualifying rounds without registration is not possible.
Registration confirmation: The registration will only be valid when the Competition Management has confirmed by e-mail that it has accepted the candidate.
Registration Fee: The participation fee of €100 for the qualifying round must be paid upon acceptance of the candidate and within 5 business days. Once accepted, the candidate will receive an email (usually within 24 hours, but no later than 72 hours) with the necessary instructions.
Arias: Participants can send in the qualifying round two opera arias in one or two video links. The choice of arias is free. The pieces must be recorded in a continuous performance.
The video links, uploaded to YouTube, Vimeo, or a similar platform, must have been recorded within the last 18 months from the date of submission. The total length of the video should not exceed 15 minutes.
Candidates who score 80 points or more will qualify for the Final.
• All decisions of the competition and its judges are binding and final.

Final (Online)

Registration: No additional registration is required to participate in the Final.
• Finalists are requested to provide an artistic photo and a short biography via email for inclusion in the competition's website Finalists panel.
Arias: Participants must submit 2 opera arias for the Final (different from those used in the qualifying round) in one or two video links. The pieces must be recorded in a continuous performance. The choice of arias is free; however, one aria must be in Italian.
• The video links, uploaded to YouTube, Vimeo, or a similar platform, must have been recorded within the last 18 months prior to the date of your submission. The total length of the videos should not exceed 20 minutes.
• The participation fee of €100 for the Finalists must be paid after qualifying for the Final (Within 5 business days of receiving the email) Following the announcement of the results, the candidate will receive an email (usually within 24 hours, but no later than 72 hours) with the necessary instructions.
The winner in each category will be determined based on the majority of the points.

Winners' Concert

The Winners' Concert will take place on September 19, 2025, at the Ehrbar Saal in Palais Ehrbar in Vienna, Austria.
• At the Winners' Concert, all FIRST PRIZE winners will perform, along with selected SECOND PRIZE and THIRD PRIZE winners chosen by the jury. The jury also reserves the right to invite selected finalists to perform as Promising Talent at the Winners' Concert.
Representatives from the opera world, artistic directors, artist management agencies, press, critics, sponsors, cultural organizations and music educators will be invited to the Winners' Concert.
• After the Winners' Concert, all participants and guests are warmly invited to spend the evening at Brasserie Palmenhaus Wien , enjoying delicious dishes and exquisite drinks. This provides a relaxed atmosphere for conversations between the young talents and representatives of the opera world and the opera industry .
Piano accompaniment will be provided. With the consent and agreement of the finalists, the concert will also be broadcast live .

PRIZES

The overall winner will receive the “Salzburger KlangKrone GRAND PRIZE ” of EURO1000,00.

In each category, a FIRST PRIZE, SECOND PRIZE, and THIRD PRIZE will be awarded. Finalists will receive a certificate confirming their qualification for the Final. All other participants will receive a certificate confirming their participation in the competition.

Audition Recommendations : All finalists will be added to a pool of talents recommended for roles in opera productions.

Recommendation to Artist Management : Winners will receive personalized recommendations to established artist management agencies.
