Adriána Kalafszky
Soprano
Adriána Kalafszky is a Hungarian-Ukrainian soprano, known for her work in classical and historical singing. She has received training at leading institutions, including the Liszt Academy in Budapest, the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Leipzig, and the Opera Studio in Victoria, BC, Canada, under the mentorship of Nancy Argenta.

Career & Performances:
Adriána Kalafszky has established herself as a prominent figure in early music, having performed at significant festivals, particularly in Leipzig, where she debuted as Venus in John Blow’s Venus and Adonis at the Alte Musik Fest. She also made her Canadian debut as Despina in Mozart’s Così fan tutte.
Since 2014, she has been collaborating with conductor György Vashegyi, the Purcell Choir, and the Orfeo Orchestra in Budapest. She has been involved in Hungarian premieres and is the soloist on the ensemble’s award-winning CD recording featuring the works of composer Francesco Bartolomeo Conti. Adriána has also performed with prominent ensembles, including the Budapest Festival Orchestra, Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra, Capella Savaria, and the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra.
Founder of DADOR Project:
In 2016, Adriána began focusing on her own artistic projects, notably with the Budapest Bach Consort, where she explores Baroque gestures in her performances. As the founder of the DADOR Project, she seeks to make classical music more accessible to the Hungarian public, especially targeting younger generations.
Innovative Work & Recordings:
Alongside her classical career, Adriána has embraced free improvisation and experimental music. She released a free jazz album titled When Dawn… in 2020, showcasing her versatility as an artist.
