Diana Bistere

Latvian mezzo-soprano Diana Bistere is a compelling operatic artist known for her rich timbre and dramatic presence. She studied vocal arts at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music and has refined her technique in masterclasses with renowned artists including Alice Coote, Margaret Honig, Teimuraz Gugushvili, Snezana Nena Brzaković, and Siegfried Gohritz.
Her operatic repertoire spans key dramatic and lyric mezzo roles, including Charlotte in Massenet’s Werther, Dalila in Saint-Saëns’ Samson et Dalila, and Olga in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin. In recent seasons, her repertoire has expanded to include the title role in Bizet’s Carmen and Lubasha in Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Tsar’s Bride.
In May 2019, Bistere made her debut at the Latvian National Opera as Mother Jeanne in Poulenc’s Dialogues of the Carmelites, in a production directed by internationally acclaimed stage director Vincent Boussard. In 2021, she appeared at the Panevėžys Musical Theatre in Lithuania, performing the roles of Carmen and Olga, receiving praise for both vocal command and emotional depth.
