Maria Sveinungsen

Mezzo-Soprano

Norwegian mezzo-soprano Maria Sveinungsen has established herself as a compelling presence in the Scandinavian and international opera scene. She earned her Bachelor’s degree at the Royal Academy of Music, London, and completed her postgraduate studies in opera at the University College of Opera, Stockholm in 2021.

In 2023, Maria won the Gothenburg Wagner Society Singing Competition and received the Bayreuth Scholarship, granting her the opportunity to attend the prestigious Bayreuth Festival in 2024.

A versatile artist, she is equally at home on the concert stage, performing a wide range of repertoire and engaging in diverse musical collaborations that highlight her expressive mezzo-soprano voice and dramatic sensitivity.
