Mezzo-Soprano

Rebecca Luttio, a mezzo-soprano originally from Seattle, began her artistic journey as a dancer with the Pacific Northwest Ballet, performing in Seattle Opera’s Nutcracker at the age of ten. She received a dance scholarship to study at St. Olaf College in Minnesota, where she discovered her passion for opera. Rebecca went on to earn her Master’s in Vocal Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music, where she performed leading roles in main-stage opera productions.

Career & Performances:
Before graduating, Rebecca made her debut with Chicago Opera Theater in the title role of La Tragédie de Carmen. She also performed in Cardenio with Harvard’s American Repertory Theater. Rebecca joined the Florida Grand Opera’s Young Artist Program, excelling in roles like Zerlina in Don Giovanni and Nicklausse in Les Contes d’Hoffmann. She was selected by Lorin Maazel, who assigned her the role of Lucretia in The Rape of Lucretia, among other significant parts.

Rebecca’s recent debut with Gulfshore Opera featured her in scenes from Carmen and Samson et Dalila, marking a key milestone in her development into dramatic repertoire.

Current Activities:
Now based in Minneapolis, Rebecca regularly performs in concerts, oratorios, and local opera productions while also teaching. Her recent performances in Minnesota have earned rave reviews from local audiences, such as:
